Praise the LORD's Wonderful Works. Vanity of Idols

"Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD; Praise Him, O servants of the LORD, You stand in the house of the LORD, In the courts of the house of our God! Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to Him name, for it is lovely. For the LORD has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel for His own possession. For I know that the LORD is great And that our Lord is above all gods. Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries. He smote the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast. He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants. He smote the firstborn of Egypt, Both of man and beast. He sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, Upon Pharaoh and all his servants. He smote many nations and slew mighty kings. Sihon, king of the Amorites, And Og, king of Bashan, And all the kingdoms of Canaan; And He gave their land as a heritage, A heritage to Israel His people. Your name, O LORD, is everlasting, Your remembrance, O LORD, throughout all generations. For the LORD will judge His people And will have compassion on His servants. The idols of the nations are but silver and gold, The work of man's hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; They have eyes, but they do not hear, Nor is there any breath at all in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, Yes, everyone who trusts in them. O house of Israel, bless the LORD; O house of Aaron, bless the LORD; O house of Levi, bless the LORD; You who revere the LORD, bless the LORD. Blessed be the LORD from Zion, Who dwells in Jerusalem. Praise the LORD!"

I started my commitment to read Bible since December 25, and it has been about 80 days now that I read the Bible everyday. It was a hard and tough journey. I never had a habit of reading Bible until now, and now, I feel weird when I do not read Bible everyday. It has been truly my heavenly father walking with me during the time. Without him, I would have not gained perseverance to overcome my weaknesses. There has been number of times that I was lazy enough to give up. I have to give a lots of thanks to him. Not only reading Bible everyday, but I also found a habit of keeping record of my day. Every single day, I wrote something about the day, and I cannot wait to read all those stories once I get back to college.

[Book] Problem of Pain - C.S. Lewis

http://allaboutcslewis.com/2013/05/17/the-problem-of-pain/ I pick-up this book while I was working in HaeunDae. It took me a week to read this book, and I read in Korean. The context is complex. But there are few things that I remember about this book. One word to remember from this book is probably the last sentence of the book. It says pain helps to show heroic ability or reveal such quality. Some people may fall into deeper pain, but most of the people end up showing their heroic quality. Pain helps people to strengthen their spirit, but that is not to say that pain is good all the time. Romans 8:16 writes that the pain leads it to show God's glory, but we need to acknowledge some downfall that pain may lead into. Anyway, people learn how to give-up themselves and learn how to give their ego instead of having strong self ego. Lewis knew this. He also talks about how heaven is very important. Its existence determines whether Chri...
